Charges filed against suspect in Kalihi officer-involved shooting

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Prosecutors have declined an attempted murder charge against the suspect arrested for an officer-involved shooting at Kuhio Park Terrace.
Instead, they added additional charges against 47-year-old Blane Apostadiro, including first-degree terroristic threatening, reckless endangering and possession of a firearm.
This all ties back to an incident early Sunday morning when Honolulu police tracked down a stolen vehicle to Kuhio Park Terrace.
Police said that’s where Apostadiro allegedly shot at two officers as he tried to run away.
Officers returned fire and the suspect was seriously wounded.
Apostadiro’s bail is set at $1 million.
